Thirty high school students enthusiastically participated in the Youth Zone's Fall Fest, which took place on October 11th. This event was a huge success, offering a wide range of engaging activities for the students to enjoy. They had the opportunity to unleash their creativity by making buttons, creating personalized safety plans, and making caramel apples. The highlight of the evening was designing their own hoodie, allowing them to showcase their unique personalities and sense of style.
To add to the festive atmosphere, the students were treated to a s'more station, complete with all the delicious ingredients to create the perfect gooey treat. YZ staff went above and beyond to create a cozy ambiance by setting up an indoor (faux) firepit which simulated an inviting space for the young people to gather around and enjoy their s'mores.
A shared meal was also provided, offering the students a chance to bond over good food and great conversation. It was a delightful experience for everyone involved, as the students not only had a blast participating in the various activities but also got to connect with their peers in a meaningful way.
At the conclusion of the evening, everyone departed with smiles on their faces, eagerly sharing their excitement with others about the memorable time they had. One of the students, Ne’Vaughn P. stated on his way out, “Fall Fest had some good energy today and my favorite part was the outcome of the evening.” [referring to seeing everyone’s hoodie design.] Others raved about how much fun caramel apple making was and enjoyed putting their artistic imagination to work designing their own hoodies. We look forward to moving into the upcoming holiday season with gratitude and giving back as our next high school event theme.
